Unflat (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a browser-based tool and Chrome extension that converts images into 3D models for design and architectural workflows. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website, browser extension, and related services (the “Services”).

By using Unflat, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

API Keys

Unflat allows you to connect your own third-party AI provider API key (such as Meshy). These keys are:

• Stored locally in your browser
• Used only to make model generation requests on your behalf
• Not sold or shared for marketing purposes

Uploaded or Selected Images

When you generate a 3D model:

• The selected image or uploaded image is sent to the connected AI provider for processing
• We may temporarily process this image to complete the generation and export

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you use our website or extension, we may collect:

• Browser type and version
• Device type and operating system
• Extension version
• Feature usage events (generation started, export type selected, etc.)
• Error logs and performance metrics
• Approximate region (derived from IP)

This data is used only to operate and improve the Services.

2.3 Analytics Data

We may use privacy-friendly analytics tools to understand:

• Feature usage patterns
• Performance and reliability
• Popular export formats
• General traffic trends

Analytics data is aggregated and not used to personally identify users.

• Enable export to GLB, GLTF, OBJ, STL, and FBX

4. Chrome Extension Permissions

Unflat’s Chrome extension may request permission to:

• Access images you click or select while the extension is active
• Read page image URLs for generation
• Run generation when triggered by user action (Alt + Click)

The extension does not:

• Read unrelated browsing data
• Track browsing history
• Capture page content outside user-triggered actions

All processing occurs only when you explicitly trigger generation.

5. Third-Party Processing

Unflat relies on third-party AI model providers to generate 3D geometry and textures.

When generation is requested:

• The selected image may be sent to Meshy AI (or another configured provider)
• Processing is governed by the provider’s privacy policy and terms
• We only send the minimum data required for generation

6. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary:

• Generated models: stored temporarily or per your save/export actions
• Logs and diagnostics: typically retained for a limited period (e.g., 30–90 days)
• Analytics data: stored in aggregated form

If accounts are introduced later, retention periods will be updated.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

Our website may use:

• Essential cookies for site functionality
• Analytics cookies (if enabled)
• Local browser storage for API keys, user preferences, and scale/export settings

Models generated using Unflat are created from user-selected images and AI provider processing. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use the source images. We are not responsible for copyright violations arising from user-selected content.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
